A kinder, gentler way to battle germs.

I know. "Kinder" and "gentler" are not words you would ever expect ME to use in the same sentence with germs!  But I am not talking about being kinder TO the germs, I'm talking about being kinder and gentler to your skin while battling germs. We seem to be getting walloped by every bug that comes along this year.  I'm not sure if it's that LJ is in kindergarten and spending the whole day at school ...

Snowman Cake Pops

Last month, LJ celebrated his half birthday.  He got to be child of the week, which means he wore a crown, was able to bring in a special snack, and (most importantly I'm told) was allowed to be first in line for the whole week.He decided he wanted to bring in snowman cake pops.  I had made pumpkin cake pops at Halloween, and apparently they were a big hit.The kicker was that I was fighting some ...

Baking Soda Beauty

What do you think of when I say "baking soda"?  If you're like most people, you probably thought of cooking or maybe even cleaning. What about beauty?  What about creating a spa experience at home for a fraction of the cost of an actual spa visit?Baking soda has tons of uses that can add a little pampering to your day!  The folks at ARM & HAMMER and Mom Central were kind enough to send me a basket ...

Baby Preview Offers 3D and 4D Ultrasounds to SE Wisconsin

When I was pregnant with LJ, I had an ultrasound pretty early on.  My doctor had asked me something about if twins ran in my family and then mentioned something about me "measuring bigger than typical" for how far along I knew I was. Everything after that is a little blurry as I went into full blown panic mode. He sent me off for an ultrasound that revealed that there was indeed just one baby ...

Help Kidd O’Shea Get on LIVE! with Regis and Kelly

I don't know about you, but I am absolutely a creature of habit in the mornings.  I have my routine and can pretty much time getting myself and LJ out the door down to the minute.  Part of my routine consists of listening to Kidd and Elizabeth on WMYX 99.1 The Mix every morning.  (It's kind of like visiting with friends who don't expect me to actually answer back or be cheery before I've had my ...

Halloween Candy Dentist Buy Back Program

So how much Halloween candy do you wind up with in your house? We usually end up with a ridiculous amount.  Between all of the pre-Halloween activities: Trick-or-Treat at the museum, the zoo, the classroom party, being boo-ed by our neighbors, and the fact that I always over buy out of fear of being the house that runs out before the night is over, the amount of candy around here can get ...

Chevy Traverse: A Review

The nice folks at GM lent me a Chevy Traverse (AWD LT-Z) to try out for a bit and asked me to share my impressions.  After spending some time in the Traverse, the one word that kept coming to mind was comfortable.I should preface this by pointing out that I currently drive a Honda CRV EX-L.  It is an SUV but a small one (and before CRV's, I used to drive a Civic).  I was a bit concerned that the ...

Our adventure at Legoland Discovery Center

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending an event at Legoland Discovery Center in Schaumburg, IL.  LJ, the biggest Lego fan known to man, was over the moon as soon as he walked in and was greeted by the "lego guy", the head of Albert Einstein, and a farting Lego statue. As we toured the Center, we were just blown away by all of the Lego creations!  Well, you know what they say, pictures are ...
