Make Your Own Twinkies with Betty Crocker Fun da-middles
I’m always on the lookout for fun things to do that both LJ and I enjoy. One of the things I have recently discovered is that he likes baking (yay!). Seeing how he also shares his mother’s sweet tooth, when the chance came up to try out Betty Crocker’s new Fun Da-Middles cupcakes, I figured it would be a great activity to do together.
In case you haven’t yet been introduced to this delicious creation – it is a cupcake mix that bakes the frosting into the middle. It was surprisingly easy to do:
We received the yellow cupcake with vanilla frosting flavor (LJ’s favorite!)
LJ helped crack the two eggs needed…
And added in the cupcake mix…
And 1/3 cup of vegetable oil…
Plus 3/4 cup of water…
He carefully watched the mixer for two minutes…
He lined the cupcake pan with liners…
And then took a break to lick the beater!
Together, we filled the cupcake tin 1/3 full as directed.
We then squeezed a blob (LJ’s description) of frosting on the center of each cupcake and covered it with the remaining batter.
Ready for the oven!
LJ loved them…
He said they reminded him of Twinkies!

This is so awesome! I think my boys would love these as well. my favorite dessert is warm delights! they are a perfect treat for once the lights go off and everyone is in bed. 🙂
my favorite dessert……well….anything involving chocolate, but if I have to choose I would have to say, chocolate chip cookies, no brownies, no black forest cake, ohhh I really can’t choose. I go back to my original – anything chocolate.

My fave dessert would be ice cream, but when it comes to baking I would have to go with brownies or freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!
