DIY Foam Christmas Cookie Ornaments

Who else loves making their own ornaments for their Christmas tree? When I was a toddler, my mom made a bunch of dough ornaments by hand to ensure that I wouldn’t hurt myself on glass ornaments if I got into the tree at all. She hand-painted all of them and they have been some of our favorites through the years. Of course, dough dries out and crumbles and piece break off as time goes by.

A fun way to keep this tradition alive without dealing with the mess of dough it to create handmade ornaments using foam instead of actual dough. Additionally, these don’t need to be baked so they are easier to do with kids. (Just watch them around the hot glue gun.) They look just like actual sugar cookies too – but you can save the flour for baking pies!
