The Single Moms Club Movie

thesingle moms club movieWhen I first became a mom, I was lost.  (And by lost, I mean completely clueless.)  I was lucky enough to have a supportive husband around, but let’s be honest, he was pretty clueless too.  I can only imagine how tough it must be to walk that road as a single mom – I was overwhelmed enough and there were two of us at my house.

Once I found a group of other new moms, I had found my tribe.  Knowing they were in the same boat made me feel less like a disaster and more like someone who was learning my way through an adventure.  We even managed to laugh a bit when we all got together and traded war stories.

You see it’s not so bad. You cry, but soon you laugh. – May from The Single Moms Club

Tyler Perry’s new movie, The Single Moms Club, takes an honest yet humorous look at life as a single mom.  In the movie, five single moms are thrown together by the actions of their kids.  They bond and decide to create a “support group” where they can help each other through the tougher parts of parenting, cheer their victories, and laugh at their misadventures.

I love that The Single Mom’s Club combines both the elements of humor and poignancy to create a story that every mom can relate to.  Take a peek at the trailer below.  You’ll notice that the words overwhelmed, underappreciated, and out of control appear at the start. What mother has not felt all of these things at one time or another?

Doesn’t that trailer make you want to grab your girlfriends and head out to see it? (You can do just that on March 14th when the movie is released!)

Usually when I’m having issues, my friends give me examples of how they have handled similar situations. Between the various examples, I’m usually able to find one (or blend them) into something that works for me.
