Sweet BBQ Sloppy Joe Cups

Take your Sloppy Joe game to the next level by upgrading to these Sweet BBQ Sloppy Joe Cups. Sweet and savory, these fun treats will fly off the plate!

This post is sponsored by our partner, Conagra.

When you are looking for an easy meal utilizing what you already have in your pantry, these Sweet BBQ Sloppy Joe cups are the perfect thing to serve. Easy to make, they are delicious and fun to eat. And all of the ingredients are available online at Walmart Online Grocery, making your recipe prep even easier!!

When you use Walmart OG, you can order online and have your groceries brought right out to your car. So nice! Not having to hunt for a parking space, wander around the store, check out, and then load up my car saves me SO much time! And I’m definitely saving money by not making all those impulse buys. If you’re concerned about the accuracy or quality of your order, I can share that I’ve used this many times and have never had a complaint!

Manwich® is one of those foods that instantly transports me back to my childhood. Sloppy Joes were a staple in our dinner entrée rotation and there were always extra cans of Manwich® Original Sloppy Joe Sauce in the pantry. Made with a tomato base and special seasonings, Manwich® and ground beef or ground turkey goes perfectly on a bun or in a taco. The Manwich® Original Sloppy Joe Sauce also adds a delicious zip to meatloaf! And at only 35 calories, zero trans fats and zero cholesterol per serving, flavor is pretty much the only thing you are adding!!

We decided to level up our Sloppy Joe game a bit all while using up some of the many Manwich® Original Sloppy Joe Sauce cans in our pantry. My family loves anything BBQ and Manwich® Original Sloppy Joe Sauce has a delicious Bourbon BBQ sauce that we love.

To make these BBQ Manwich® Sloppy Joes a fun twist on the usual, we baked them into biscuit cups. Not just ANY biscuit cups – we used sweet Hawaiian biscuits! (Because they don’t call them SLOPPY Joes for nothing, you’ll still want to eat these over a plate, but at least you can use your hands to pick them up if that’s your style.)

Here’s how to make these fun Sweet BBQ Sloppy Joe Cups.

Gather together a pound of ground beef or ground turkey, ¾ cup of chopped onions, one can (15 oz) of Manwich® Sauce, one package of refrigerated Sweet Hawaiian rolls dough, chunks of pineapple (optional), and shredded cheddar cheese (optional).

You’ll also need a skillet and a medium sized muffin pan.

Sauté the onions in a skillet over medium heat until translucent. Preheat the oven to 400℉. Add in ground meat and continue cooking until completely cooked through. Add the Manwich® sauce, stir and allow to heat through.

Take each biscuit and flatten and stretch without ripping the dough. Press the dough into each individual muffin cup creating a cup shape. It is okay if the dough does not reach the top edge of the cups.

Spoon about ¼ cup of the meat mixture into each muffin cup.

Bake at 400℉ for about 10 minutes or until dough is browned and crispy. Garnish with pieces of pineapple or shredded cheese – which every you prefer. (I love a piece of pineapple or two on top!) If you don’t have any available, you can always order some through Walmart’s Online Grocery and just swing by and pick up your items!

Enjoy!!! Here’s a pin to pin for later as well –

Looks just right for tea, in fact would be nice to serve to guests except we are in lockdown now like many other countries in the world. I like your easy recipe, will make them. We are quite use to curry puffs for tea and snacks here in Malaysia. We don’t have walmart here but our supermarkets have other varieties.
