I’m Maureen, aka Wisconsin Mommy, a thirty-something mom living just outside of Milwaukee. I live with my husband, Big J, and my six-year-old son, Little J (or LJ).
I used to be an elementary teacher but decided to stay home when LJ was born. I spent many of those early years on the computer (usually Googling whatever I was panicking about at the moment) and discovered the world of Mommy Blogs. In 2007, I started my own blog to claim my little piece of the web and WisconsinMommy.com was born. I generally cover parenting-related issues and feature helpful products and services.
I have been the local brand ambassador for Swift Beef and one of the five BP Gasoline’s “Invigorate Insiders” and am currently a Purex Insider. I was honored to receive Nickelodeon’s Parents Pick’s “Best Local Blog” award and have also been featured by Kiwi Magazine, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, Metroparent Magazine, Mom Talk Radio, and on WTMJ’s Live News at Daybreak and FOX’s Real Milwaukee.
Recently, I’ve gone back to work part-time as an Instructional Coach and have written a book for other aspiring mom bloggers available at http://www.beginningbloggersblueprint.com/ . I am also available to help you utilize social media for your small business marketing needs.
