As the mom of an allergy kid, I get a little obsessive about the kinds of prepackaged foods I allow in my house. Understandably (and thankfully!) the teachers at Josh’s school are the same way. If it isn’t nut-free, it doesn’t go in the classroom and it doesn’t go near Josh’s mouth. It only takes one “Mom, my tongue feels funny…” to make me into an obsessive label checker. And it never fails to surprise me some of the sneaky places nuts can hide. You really do have to be at the top of your game when it comes to keeping your allergy kids safe.
I’m thrilled to be partnering with Snyder’s of Hanover (one of our favorite snack brands!) on this sponsored post to let you know that Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels are now peanut-free! Woo hoo!! This means Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels are now safe for kids with a peanut allergy and schools with peanut-free requirements since they are made in a peanut free facility.

Just look for the logo!!
Part of the reason we are so psyched about this news is because of how much we love pretzels here. They make the perfect lunchbox companion to a sandwich or soup. They are also a great snack for mid-morning break or after school.
We love using them for other things too – like substituting them for breadcrumbs on our favorite baked chicken breasts or nuggets. Here is our favorite easy to make recipe!

I think that’s awesome! Peanut allergies suck so bad. There are so many things that people with these allergies can’t eat just because the food MIGHT have touched anything with peanuts.
Vera Sweeney says
This is going to be so great for so many people! I can’t imagine not being able to eat something just because it might have touched something else.

I have to show this to a good friend of mine. She is constantly checking packages to see if they’re peanut safe. You’d be AMAZED at how many things are “made in a facility that may contain nuts”.
Maureen Fitzgerald says
Oh – I totally get it! There are surprisingly few choices out there.

Can you tell me if the Snyder mini pretzels are also tree nut free? My grandson has an allergy to nuts and a severe alleegy to peanuts. So it doesn’t help me much to see the peanut free label if it doesn’t also say tree nut free.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Maureen Fitzgerald says
I always suggest confirming with the manufacturer. However, my son also has a tree nut allergy and has not had any issues with them.
Melissa Chapman says
You seem so comfortable with the allergy issue and have made it so good for your child and not to be upset by the restrictions. That chicken dish looks delicious and worth trying on my kids.
Maureen Fitzgerald says
Thanks! I’ve had nine years to adjust to the idea of his food allergy. I’ve found that if I don’t look at it as a hardship, neither does he. 🙂

This is awesome news!! I know a lot of parents will be happy to hear this. Thanks for the great recipe.

Always been a huge fan of Snyder products. I do not have any food allergies, just intolerances. But, I know many do, so this news is great.

We do not have food allergies, but it is great to know that there are more and more options available for people who do. The chicken dish looks interesting to try. I am pretty sure this will be a hit in my family.

This is nice to know that Snyders is true to their word that their products are not only peanut free, but made in a a peanut free facility as well. Although no one in my family has food allergies or sensitivities, I will still recommend this to my friends who have allergies. Thanks for the heads-up!
Jan says
Are they tree nut free as well?
Maureen Fitzgerald says
Always confirm with the manufacturer, however my son has a severe tree nut allergy and has not had a reaction.
