Little J has been advocating for a backyard camp out since school let out at the beginning of June. Unfortunately, the weather has not cooperated on the nights when we were free to try it – either it has been stifling hot or unseasonably cold.
Today, however, is the absolute perfect summer day. Big J put the tent together and blew up the air mattresses while Little J danced around him practically quivering with excitement.
Of course, the one thing we didn’t think about is the fact that it stays light here until after nine. Little J usually goes to bed around seven. And he ALWAYS wakes up at six. AM. No matter what time he went to bed. And with the amount of excitement radiating from his little body, I’m guessing sleep is not in the foreseeable future.
Maybe we will all take a nap tomorrow.

I feel for you girl! Two of my kids will sleep late, one is up as soon as sun light hits no matter how late he goes to sleep. All I can say is try to have a wonderful time.

Ah, the great outdoors sleeping! I did the tent in the backyard deal for several years with my oldest two. My back is forever thankful the day we became trailer trash and bought the pop-up camper. Now we sleep in that many nights, parked in our driveway.
