If you are interested in broadcasting your location to tons of friends and followers, there are an ever increasing number of apps that will let you do just that. I jokingly tell my husband to check Foursquare if he is not sure where I am.
But what if you want to keep an eye on where the kids are without them announcing it to the whole online world? There really wasn’t much offered on that front until Moby came along. Moby was developed by a company called Contigo which specializes in GPS and other location technologies used for safety concerns.
Moby was created in order to offer families access to some of the same location applications that are available to businesses. How can Moby help your family?
The only downside I found was that (as with most location-based apps), it used more battery power and drained my charge more quickly. Moby understands that this is an issue and will be issuing a fix for this later this month.
Here’s a great demonstration video that gives you an idea of how Moby works:
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Moby and received compensation to thank me for taking the time to participate. Opinions expressed are my own, as always.

I think this is a great app but yes they need to work out the battery consumption portion of it. I have a bit of a double standard mentality here because I believe as parents we don’t need it but I absolutely think my daughter should have it. I will have to look into this app. Sprint offers a similar product at $5 per month but I don’t want to be tied to a carrier. Thanks for pointing this one out because it went under my radar 🙂
