Many of you who follow me on Facebook know that I recently started the Couch to 5K running program. It is geared toward new runners who want to ease into their running program. It combines short stints of running with longer stints of walking and builds you up a little at a time.
As soon as I mentioned that I was participating in the program, my inbox exploded with people asking questions about it, telling me that they were doing it too, or telling me that they had done it (and loved it).
So far, I’ve done the first two days. The first day was painful, no way around it. I probably pushed a little too hard by trying to maintain too fast of a speed both when running and walking. I dialed it back a bit for day two and it went much better.
I did purchase the C25K app on iTunes. It lets me use my own workout music and just gives me reminders of when to walk and when to run. It sounds basic, but it is REALLY hard to keep track of all that yourself while you are gasping for air and trying not to fall off the treadmill.
