If you could feel some excitement in the air around Southridge Mall this morning, it wasn’t your imagination. Jenna Ushkowitz (known for her role as Tina Cohen-‐Chang on the hit TV show GLEE) was in town to unveil her new Jenna Ushkowitz Collection by Wallflower Vintage in a runway fashion show featuring twelve local teens. The collection launched today and is only available at the Southridge Boston Store and online at BostonStore.com. (It will be available at all Bon-Ton stores nationwide starting September 19th.)
I got to sneak behind the scenes for a few minutes before the show started and sat down to talk to Jenna about the new season of GLEE which premiers Tuesday, September 20 on your local FOX station. Asked about the upcoming cast changes (a number of the original characters have “graduated” and will be replaced by a new freshman class), Jenna compared it to “losing family members” but also explained that it’s “exciting to have new chemistry” as well.
I asked Jenna what advice she has for young people looking to break into the performing arts. She echoed what most parents tell their own kids – have a back up plan. “If there’s something else you love to do, pursue that,” she advised. But then she chuckled and admitted that she couldn’t see herself doing anything but performing, so I’m guessing she wouldn’t have taken her own advice!
Jenna doesn’t know if her character, Tina, will be wearing any of her new collection on GLEE this season but she plans to spend a lot of time hanging out in it off camera and between takes. One of the things she loves about it is the comfort.

So which is YOUR favorite???

This design is steller! You certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
