Let’s talk new years resolutions. Okay, I know you probably aren’t even done with your Christmas shopping yet but you know what they say – if you fail to plan, you plan to fail! Personally, I’m making the resolution to get more exercise. I know… really unique, right? So what is going to make this year different than all the others when I made the same resolution and found myself sitting on the couch with a bag of Skinny Pop by February?
This year I have a secret weapon and it makes exercising fun!!
I know it sounds too good to be true, but I’m being honest. And since I’m being honest, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Ready? I hate to exercise. Shhh – don’t tell anyone, okay? I’m more than a little sure that I’m not alone here. See, I’m not a gym person. I have exactly zero desire to go work out in front of a bunch of people I don’t know. Plus, we kind of built a gym in our lower level and I have a certain amount of guilt about going other places to exercise while my nice equipment is acting as a laundry hook downstairs.
I do like going for walks, but come February and the -30 wind chill temps, I basically run the dog out to do his business and then bolt back inside the house. (Hence the gym in the basement – it’s a balmy 70 degrees down there everyday and it has yet to snow once.) So I need a way to motivate myself to actually use the equipment. We have a TV down there, but I wind up getting so engrossed in what I’m watching that eventually I’ve slowed to a crawl and that kind of defeats the purpose.
But my new secret weapon eliminates my boredom AND doesn’t let me quit!
I can hear you now saying “Okay Maureen, we get it. It’s amazing. But what the heck IS it???” Okay, I’ll spill the beans – it’s called Goji Play and it’s a video game system made specifically for exercising. It actually makes 30 minutes of exercise feel like 5! I love it so much, I’ve agreed to be a Blue Goji ambassador (which means I tell you guys how much my family loves it and get to offer you some savings if you’d like to get one for your family and I even get compensated for sharing).
Goji Play 2 consists of two controllers that can be strapped to your workout machine (like the handlebars of your elliptical) or fastened to two hand pieces that you can hold. You then download any one of Blue Goji 2’s many fun games onto your iPad, tablet, phone – whatever – and the controllers only let you play while you’re working out on your cardio machine of choice. It even incorporates your exercise intensity and speed into the game! Genius, right?
So the next thing you know, you are all wrapped up in racing your car or punching your opponent (yes, there is even a boxing game!!) and you’re not thinking about how your butt muscles hurt or counting how many minutes you have left. You’re done and wondering if they have something like this to make those dreaded visits to the dentist go by just as quickly.
Goji Play 2 is perfect for any member of the family 6 or over.
Anyone who knows Josh knows that he is very into video games. I decided to let him take Goji Play 2 for a spin and see what he thought. He loves it! And as a mom, I love that this is one video game that requires him to be active. I have a feeling we *might* just be competing for time using the Goji Play 2 and the home gym. That will definitely be a first!! I should add that you do NOT have to be a “gamer” to work this – it’s super easy and fits into any workout level.
I highly recommend Goji Play and really think it makes a great holiday gift for just about anyone. It is super portable, so those who do not have the gym aversion I have can easily take it with them. And since you know I wouldn’t make you fall in love with this thing and then leave you hanging…
I even have a discount code for you!! Go buy one here and use code MAUREENF10 and get $10 off AND free shipping.
Seriously – go grab one now. I don’t have any insider information, but I’ve got to think that these are going to be pretty popular this holiday season and I’d hate to see you doing that boring old exercise routine without one come January! So #GetUpandGojiPlay!!
This blog post was sponsored by Blue Goji but the opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

That looks like so much fun. I get bored on the treadmill, and rarely finish the minutes I was hoping for. This sounds like a great way to stay engaged.

I really need to get this! I love cardio when I do it and I think this would encourage me even more! So fun!

I really need to get this! I’m in the same boat – not a super fan of working out, however I do get myself on the treadmill a few days a week. I must try this fun goji product!

I’m not a fan of working out either- and it shows big time. My goal for the new year is to really get my butt in gear and moving in a big way. This looks like a fun way to do that.

I’d like to say that this would change my ways and I’d work out all the time, but that’s a lie and it wouldn’t. But it might make the times I do work out much more fun and that my friend is a big +.

I keep seeing this around and I want it so bad! I think I need to add it to my wishlist and send it to Santa.
