Generally speaking, I am NOT a morning person.  It can take me a good half hour and several cups of coffee before I feel like carrying on any kind of conversation.  Forget getting anything intelligent or humorous out of me until closer to lunch!
That’s one of the reasons I have such great respect for folks who can not only get up at dark o’clock in the morning, but also be coherent, even funny, at that hour.  Take Kidd and Elizabeth for example!  (For you non-local folks, they are two radio personalities who are on WMYX 99.1 The Mix.  I’m not sure what time they start – some ungodly hour and long before I am up – but they keep my grumpy self company until 9 am!)
And if their humor and sass weren’t enough reason to love them, they also have very generous hearts.  Last year, I got to stop by and participate when they ran their annual stuff the bus campaign.  Now, they are also helping local students with their “Stuff for Students” campaign in conjunction with Feeding America SE Wisconsin.
The “Stuff for Students” school supply drive will be broadcast live from 6 am – 4 pm  Friday August, 26th on 99.1 The Mix.  It will be held at the Wal-Mart on National Ave and Moorland Rd in New Berlin.   Generous folks like yourself will be able to drop off school supplies that will then be distributed to those in need by Feeding America SE Wisconsin.
Having taught for eight years and worked in education for fifteen, let me assure you that there is a real need for this.  You would be shocked to know how many kids simply cannot afford the supplies they are asked to bring to school.  Having just outfitted my first-grader with all of the markers, crayons, etc from his supply list, even I was surprised at how fast it added up.  Times are lean for all of us, but anything you can contribute will help greatly.  Imagine if everyone reading this just donated one item…
