5 Ways to Earn Extra Cash

earn extra cash

Most people would agree that they could always use a little extra money. The key is starting now to make as much additional cash as you can and saving it.  There are several ways you can earn extra cash, depending on your time, preferences, and skill set.

Below are five ways you can earn extra cash for the things you want – hopefully one will appeal to you!

1. Offer services on Craigslist.

There are likely odd and end jobs you can do in your own neighborhood for extra cash. Craigslist is a wonderful place to advertise and find clients that need work done. Things like babysitting, shoveling snow, wrapping gifts, and toy assembly are all good tasks to offer.

2. Sell unneeded items on eBay.

Clean out your closets, basement, or attic and put the items you find up for sale on eBay. If they are brand new, you may be able to get close to their retail price, especially at certain times of year. Many people shop eBay for holiday gifts so don’t be afraid to ask what your items are worth! Gently used winter clothing and outerwear are a good sellers during this time too. Outdoor play items and patio furniture do well in the spring and early summer months.

3. Look for delivery jobs.

With the holiday season comes more packages being delivered. UPS and FedEx tend to hire extra help during the later months of the year to compensate for the increase in purchases made online. There may also be local delivery options to earn money, such as working with a florist in your area. Pizza restaurants are always looking for delivery drivers and I know many adults who make good money delivering newspapers.

4. Make things to sell.

If you are crafty, pull out your supplies and create something to sell on Etsy. Since many prefer homemade gifts, doing it now will give you more time to make sales – which means more money in holiday piggy bank! Take a look at the website to see what is hot, and put your own spin on popular items.

5. Become a freelancer.

If you don’t have time to go out and get a temporary second job, being a freelancer can offer the freedom you need to make some extra cash. Freelancing means you work for yourself, setting your own hours while getting paid to do things for others online. These tasks may include writing content, web design, and data entry. Websites like Elance and oDesk has tons of jobs waiting for freelancers to apply!

Selling unwanted items is a great way to earn extra cash. We’ve sold books, tables even tires which we otherwise would have just through out. I’m also signed up for all these online survey companies where you earn $ for answering surveys though I haven’t seen much $$$ yet,
