KinderCare Summer Camp Program

Summer can offer a challenge as far as keeping our kids occupied and stimulated once school lets out. Here in Wisconsin, we have almost three full months of summer vacation (I know East Coast folks tend to get out more toward the end of June).

LJ likes to stay busy with lots of activities during the summer: tennis lessons, YMCA camp, and zoo camp. Still, we have quite a bit of “down time” and were looking for something to fill those last few weeks before school starts. That tends to be my busy time at work (since I work with new teachers, they are getting ready to launch the school year at that time) and most of the summer activities have ended by mid-August.

When the folks at KinderCare offered to let LJ come try their summer camp program for a week, I thought we might have found the perfect solution! I took a tour of our local KinderCare to make sure that it was a good match for our family. I was very impressed with what I saw!

I loved that the building was completely secure – no one was coming or going without getting through a locked vestibule with several pairs of eyes on it. The director met us at the door (I did not tell her who I was or why I was there) and showed us the spacious facility. It is much larger than it appears from the outside!  The children are placed with other children in their age group and each have their own section of the building with age appropriate toys and educational materials.  LJ immediately asked to stay and play!  I was also impressed that the children there felt comfortable approaching the director and she knew them by name.

We took a peek at the 12 different camp themes being offered this summer and I immediately knew we were going to have a problem choosing – LJ wanted to do all of them!

Take a look at what they have to offer this summer:

•Wilderness 101
•Dig Ancient Egypt
•Wild, Wild West
•Scienterrific
•Spectacular Sports
•Animal Antics
•Kids’ Kitchen
•Sports Smarts
•Art Expo
•Splish Splash!
•Feats of Science ™ K’NEX® Motion Machines

Apparently, I’m not alone in my feelings about summer break.  KinderCare did a survey and came up with some interesting results:

If you too are looking for a fun, safe, educational activity for your child, I recommend taking a look at what KinderCare has to offer!

I was provided free camp for LJ in return for the time and effort taken to write this post.  The opinions expressed are my own and are not influenced by any compensation.
