I would really be okay if they completely stopped making kids clothing in white. Seriously. And I know what you’re thinking: Just don’t buy kids’ clothes in white!
But sometimes you don’t have a choice – football pants and school uniform shirts come to mind.
So let’s talk about this. White football pants, a seven year old, and a football field. We know that these pants are going to get dirty, right? And not just dirty, but really dirty…and grass stained. White school uniform shirt and chocolate milk at snacktime. Need I say more?
The folks at Oxiclean sent me some of their product along with a soaking tub to try and tackle some of the worst stains I face in the laundry room.
So I decided that Oxiclean should be put to a real life test with the three stains I face most (on a white shirt no less!). I took one of LJ’s white tee shirts and put chocolate milk, ketchup, and grass stains on it.
Then I tried that thing they do on the ad where they pour the Oxiclean on the stains and they vanish like magic. No luck there.
Next, I tried actually following the directions which called for a soaking in hot water and Oxiclean for 1-6 hours.
Because I am impatient, I checked the shirt after 3 hours. Here’s what I found.
The ketchup and chocolate milk had faded considerably, but the grass still looked a fresh. Of course, it had just been sitting there in the bucket. I decided to throw it in with a load of whites I needed to wash.
I forgot to check it before I put them all in the dryer, so I was really hoping it had worked. What do you think?
So how does it work? Activated by water, OxiClean unleashes bubbling oxygen for effective cleaning and stain removal. OxiClean’s newly reformulated Versatile Stain Remover has 40% more oxygen power per scoop than the current version – and is safe to use on both whites and colors. In the wash, it enhances your detergent’s cleaning ability and also contains special ingredients to help rinse those sports soils away. (And it has a nice fresh scent, I should add.)
I’m am now feeling inspired to go and give Oxiclean a try on a few stubborn carpet stains I have been eyeing – I’ll let you know what happens.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of OxiClean and received OxiClean items to facilitate my review and compensation to thank me for taking the time to participate. All opinions expressed are my own – as are the stains!
