Many of you saw that LJ and I were fortunate to be part of the Elmer’s Bag It Forward program last week. Now you can be part of the Virtual Bag It Forward blog meme!
The Virtual Bag It Forward is a charity blog meme which allows bloggers to raise $10 per blog post for Adopt-A-Classroom by writing a post and donating a virtual bag of school supplies. Elmer’s will donate $10 for each post up to $10,000.
As a former teacher, I can tell you first hand that teachers provide many of the materials that they use to teach your children. My first year of teaching, I was given an eraser, a box of chalk, two boxes of crayons, a pair of adult scissors, a stapler, and a pad of construction paper. This was to last me the year teaching 29 fifth graders! Many of my paychecks that year went to buying supplies to use in my class. Can you imagine how many supplies $10,000 can buy for classrooms like the one I had?
Here are the rules:
* Copy and paste these rules into your blog post.
* Create a blog post giving a “virtual bag of school supplies” to other bloggers or write about your Back to School shopping trip at Walmart.
* Link back to the person who gave you a bag of school supplies.
* Contact each person and let them know that you have given them a bag.
* Leave your link in the Elmer’s Virtual Bag It Forward comment section. You can also find the official rules of this virtual #bagitforward program there.
Elmer’s is donating $10 for each blog participating in the Virtual Bag It Forward Donation to Adopt-A-Classroom (up to total of $10,000 for blog posts written by August 12, 2010).
Please note that only one blog post per blog url will count towards the donation.
