Like so many teens these days, my son loves playing video games. Between all of the extracurricular activities he has and a decent amount of homework, he doesn’t have a lot of time to spend on this hobby. He definitely wants to make any time he does spend gaming as high quality as possible and that’s why we are so thrilled to be partnering with our sponsor, Turtle Beach for this post.
As long as Josh has had gaming systems, Turtle Beach has been a constant presence in our home. They’ve been around since before Josh started gaming – since 2005 to be exact. Since then, they have become the largest gaming headset producer in the world. Turtle Beach’s award-winning headsets are known for utilizing advanced technology to produce amazing high-quality gaming audio, crystal-clear communication, lightweight and comfortable designs.
Josh received the Turtle Beach Recon 70 to test out. While he does own several Turtle Beach headsets, this is their newest release so he hadn’t tried it yet. He found it to be lightweight and comfortable even when his games went on for hours. (That doesn’t happen often but it’s good to know the headset holds up if it does.) He liked the 40mm speakers and over-ear cushions that are both comfortable and block out distracting noises (like mom telling him to clean his room!). He especially likes the mic that flips up to mute – a feature on his other Turtle Beach mics that he has grown to love. The mic is crystal clear and produces great sound.
The versatile 3.5mm connection makes it easy to swap between systems so if he brings it over to a friend’s house, he can use it on PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile devices in addition to his Xbox One. Because it is a wired headset, running out of charge is never an issue.
To sum it up, Josh really likes the Turtle Beach Recon 70 and will be replacing the Recon 50 he had been using as he enjoys the improvements in sound in both the ear speakers and microphone.
