As a blogger, I get pitched all kinds of things – some that I’d never even heard of until reading the pitch email. Lately it seems I get a lot of “detox” pitches. I know that detoxes are kind of the thing right now, but I just hadn’t been able to bring myself to do one. Maybe it’s because most of them sounded just plain awful – anything that requires me to consume cayenne pepper or drink nothing but green juice for a week is out of the question.
When the opportunity to participate in a two week detox where all I had to do was add a cup of tea to my morning came along, I figured I could get on board with that pretty easily. FitTea is an all natural 14 day detox that states it promotes fat burning and weight loss, improves your immune system, and soothes your digestive system. Organic Green Tea, Oolong Wu Yi, Organic Rooibos, Ginger, Pomegranate, Guarana, Birch, Stevia, Corn, Honey Powder
How to Prepare FitTea:
Place 1 tsp or 1 tea bag into a cup of almost boiling water and steep for 3-5 minutes. Remove tea and enjoy hot or cold. Add honey and/or lemon to taste.
I wound up having a hot cup in the morning in place of my usual cup of coffee. I do believe FitTea has a bit less caffiene than coffee and I did have some withdrawl headaches the first day or two. I eventually added an iced glass to my routine midafternoon before going for my daily walk. I already love green tea and FitTea has both stevia and honey powder that gives it a nice sweetness without making it overly so. I also love that the tea bags made out of a fine mesh like high end teas, and not paper bags.
I loved that the FitTea detox did not make me jittery or give me any unwanted digestive issues (you know what I’m talking about, right?) but actually gave me a gentle energy burst and a little help in the bowel regulation department. Once I got over the caffiene withdrawl hump, I didn’t have any headaches or mental fog like I have heard people on other cleanses describe.
I felt like some of my cravings were more under control – especially my I-want-to-eat-all-the-whote-carbs cravings. I’m feeling like this has to have helped contribute to my dropping 4 lbs in the two weeks I tried FitTea. I was comfortable with this amount and did not feel like I had any negative side effects during this time.
I’d love to hear if you have ever done any kind of tea detox cleanse or added tea to your own fitness routine!
FitTea is only $25.00 for the 2 week detox. And as their tagline says “Give us a few weeks, we’ll give you a new waistline.”
