When you have a busy active family, some days getting dinner on the table can be a real struggle! (Who am I kidding – getting any of the day’s three meals on the table can be rough!) As a working mom, I’m always on the lookout for ways to prepare a quick and easy meal that my family will love. The challenge is finding something that is easy, that they love and that I feel good about serving them. Grabbing fast food several times a week is neither healthy nor economical and just not a good solution for us! Luckily, we have Sandwich Bros. to help out on those busy days!
Now, I have to admit that I was already a huge Sandwich Bros. fan before they reached out to partner on this post. When I first moved to Wisconsin, Jay and I had an amazing Greek restaurant just down the street from our apartment and I discovered the deliciousness that is a Gyro. (A Gyro – pronounced like “yeer-o”- is a Greek sandwich made with seasoned rotisserie cooked meat (usually lamb around here), tomato, red onions, and a special yogurt sauce and served in pocket bread.) After we moved out to the suburbs, I wanted to find a way to make Gyros at home but discovered it was probably beyond my skill set to try and roast lamb at home. I happened upon the Sandwich Bros. Gyros Sliders in my grocer’s freezer and was intrigued. They were super easy to make and I was instantly in love!
Because the folks at Sandwich Bros. know that everyone has slightly different tastes, you can find Gyro Sliders both with yogurt cheese and without. I actually like them both ways! If I’m serving them for a quick family dinner, I dress them up a bit with sliced cucumber, my own version of a yogurt sauce (just plain yogurt, chopped cucumber, a dash of dried mint, and some granulated garlic to taste) and a side Greek salad. The sliders heat up in the microwave in about 40 seconds per sandwich.
I also love that Sandwich Bros., a Wisconsin based company, is the sister brand to Kangaroo Pocket Bread which totally explains why the pocket bread in all of their creations is just so good. They have access to (and use!) fresh-baked flatbread pockets in all of their sandwiches. Once I discovered how much I loved Sandwich Bros. Gyro Sliders, I looked to see what other products they make. Turns out they offer Chicken Melts (Josh’s favorite), Angus Cheeseburgers, Pizza Burgers and Italian Sausage Melts, all perfect for light meals or quick snacks.
They also have a variety of breakfast sandwiches including Sausage and Cheese, Egg and Cheese, Egg white and Turkey Sausage and Turkey Sausage and Cheese. These are my favorite for rushed mornings! They are so easy to prepare that Josh can make a wholesome, tasty breakfast for himself in less time than it takes to put his shoes on! I know their slogan is “Really…Really Tasty!” but I’m thinking they might want to change it to “Really…Really Tasty AND Really…Really Easy!” (Hmmm – who do I talk to about this idea?)
I’m guessing by now your mouth is watering and you’re wondering where you can get your hands on some Sandwich Bros. sandwiches, right? They are super easy to find! I’ve personally bought them at Pick ‘n Save and Costco and know they are also at Kroger, Sam’s and more. Find a location close to you!
