This is a sponsored post. I received product samples to facilitate my review. What does this mean? Well, it means that the sponsor sent along some product for me to try so that I could give you an actual, honest opinion of it. They also sent along this fun gift card that my friends and I got to use for a fun night out. I will also be compensated for the time and effort it took me to put this post together. Thanks Culturelle!!
Remember back when we were young – before marriage, before kids, before responsibilities? It seemed like every week had several girls’ nights out! In a good week, my girlfriends and I were out Thursday, Friday AND Saturday night! (I loved being able to create a schedule in college that included no Friday classes.) I think we kind of took it for granted that girls’ night out would always be a part of our lives.
Then we got older, got married, had kids and girls’ night out got replaced with PTA meetings, teacher conferences, sports practices and games, actually working to pay the bills and other grown up responsibilities. Don’t get me wrong – I love this part of my life and have loudly proclaimed on more than one occasion that I love going to Josh’s Park & Rec basketball games more than going to a Bucks Game any day.
But we still need a girls’ night out once in a while.
Yes, the days of three GNO a week are over but that doesn’t mean we should be going years between a night out with our girlfriends! We might have to schedule them a bit more in advance. We might have to arrange for someone to be home with the kiddos. But you know what? It’s worth it. Spending time out with our friends helps us keep our sense of self outside of just being moms, or employees, or wives, or whatever. It grounds us.
The problem with having a girls’ night out that we schedule way in advance is that things can come up to disrupt our carefully made plans. What’s more disappointing than working to plan an evening, looking forward to it, and then having to miss out?
That’s why I love finding ways to support my body’s own immune system to (hopefully) stay well when there is an event I don’t want to miss. That’s where Culturelle Advanced Immune Defense comes in.
