There are a bunch of things no one ever tells you about getting older. (Well, maybe they do tell you, but you might not really listen!) When you are in your teens and twenties, the age of wrinkles and age spots seems light years away. You nod when you hear about the dangers of sun exposure and not getting enough sleep and not taking your daily vitamins, but you don’t really think that applies to you so you lay in the tanning bed before your vacation and pull all-nighters and eat junk.
And then one day (maybe in your thirties or maybe forties) you wake up, look in the mirror, and notice you are starting to get wrinkles.
And suddenly it’s an all-hands-on-deck kind of emergency. You start slathering sunscreen on your face before you will even walk past a window. You make an effort to land in bed with your face slathered with night cream before Jimmy Fallon has interviewed his first guest and pop a multivitamin that promises to restore youth to your skin and nails.
And if you’re anything like me, your sole focus is on your face.
You’ve got serums and moisturizers that you put on before your make up, after you wash your face and before bed. You make sure your BB cream has sunscreen, your daily moisturizer has sunscreen, and your foundation has sunscreen. You are pretty sure that your face cannot be touched by a single ray of anything and you figure that, while you may not have completely won the battle, you’ve at least slowed the troops down A LOT.
And then one day you take your eyes off of your face, there they have been diligently hunting down any wrinkles or other signs of aging, look down and realize…
You may have won the anti-aging battle on your face, but there’s a whole other war going on below your chin.
We are talking about your neck, your chest, arms, legs, and hands. You take a closer look and wonder when your fresh, firm skin got replaced with crepe paper! Now, while I have always been good about making sure my face is covered in sunscreen, I have not always been so diligent about my neck. And suddenly I am noticing lines where there weren’t any before.
Luckily, I was offered the chance to try a revolutionary new product that is designed to help just the issue I am talking about – aging on the neck and below. Crepe Erase is a two step system that includes an exfoliating body polish and a repair treatment created to reveal firmer, more youthful skin. I’m giving it a try for a few weeks and will be back to report my results and thoughts.
So far, I am loving the simplicity of the program and the quality of the products. They are gentle and do not have a strong smell and I *think* I am already seeing an improvement in the appearance of my skin, even through it said it could take up to two weeks.
So what anti-aging steps do you take and do they extend past your chin?
