I have to confess that up until last week, I had never been to Chuck E. Cheese. Really.
Jay had taken LJ a few times and I had brought LJ to some similar-type places, but never to Chuck E. Cheese itself. Now, I had heard all about it from friends who bemoaned the fact that their kids loved the place and insisted on going all the time.
It sounded like fun to me – I couldn’t figure out what the problem was. They filled me in: the food. Apparently, they didn’t care for the pizza. Jay confirmed that he and LJ would eat somewhere else and then go to Chuck E. Cheese to play the games.
Well, it seems that Chuck E. Cheese was aware of the criticism and has responded accordingly. For the first time in 30 years, they have changed their pizza recipe. (And not just changed, “upgraded”.)

Jay, LJ and I were invited to go to our local Chuck E. Cheese and give the new recipe a try. We all loved it. Now, I never had the “before” recipe, but I can absolutely vouch for the “after”. The three of us managed to down an entire pie!
|LJ’s review – yummy!|
I had a blast playing LJ at skee ball. Turns out the kid is GOOD! He was hitting the 10,000 mark over and over and making it look so easy. I tried for over an hour and only hit it once. By the end of my attempts, I almost couldn’t stand up!
So what did I think of Chuck E. Cheese, never having been there before? I had a lot of fun! The games were fun, the place was sparkling clean (even the bathrooms), and I loved that they make sure any children are leaving with the same adults that brought them.
|Checking stamps with the “magic” flashlight.|
That is always a concern when you are at a place where kids are kind of running free. When you arrive, Chuck E. Cheese stamps every child’s hand with “invisible” ink and their parent has a matching stamp. The staff (flanked by a private security guard) does carefully check the stamps before they let you take a child out the door. LOVE that policy!

The folks at Chuck E. Cheese want you and your family to have the chance to try the new pizza too. They have three (3) gift cards to give away. Each gift card is good for one large pizza, four soft drinks and 30 game tokens.
