Those of you who know me at ALL know that I love Starbucks. I have my favorite treats and my go-to drinks for both summer and winter and rarely vary what I order or try something new. When an email from Starbucks’ PR showed up in my mailbox, I was thrilled to read that they were requesting that I try something new and let them know what I thought of it.
Starbucks recently added a few new signature drinks featuring orange to their menu. The first one I tried was the Valencia Orange Refresher drink. I usually stick to coffee when I am at Starbucks but had tried the other refreshers when they first came out. They were good, but not my preferred drink choice, so I wasn’t expecting to love the orange flavor. Boy, was I surprised when I tried it. It wasn’t too sweet or soda-like as I had feared. It was, well, refreshing. Hmmm – maybe that’s where they got the name???
On my next trip, I gave the Orange Spice Iced Coffee a try. Again, I wasn’t expecting to love it as I never drink my coffee black and typically get a latte. I figured I’d try it black first and then add some cream if I really couldn’t stand it. I wound up really liking it just the way it was served. The orange and spice flavor added a nice kick to the coffee but didn’t overwhelm it. It, like the refresher, wasn’t overly sweet but had just enough flavor to make it delicious without adding any cream or sugar.
These drinks are being billed as a “summer addition” to the menu, so I suspect they may disappear as the cooler weather arrives (although I hope not!). If you haven’t already, get yourself out to your nearest Starbucks and give them a try!!
Let me know – have you tried either Starbucks Orange drink yet?? What did you think??
