Skincare Shopping at Walmart #cbias

My skin changes with the weather – literally.  I’ve found that in the summer months, I need something a little stronger to keep the oil and breakouts at bay.  Once the weather turns colder and dryer, I need a much gentler system or my skin get dull and dry.

No matter which system I am using, I decided that it would work even better with a great applicator.   I’d heard great things about the Clarisonic Skincare Brush, but didn’t feel like paying that much without ever having used a brush before.  I decided to head to my local Walmart and see what they had to offer.

The first thing I found was the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion System.  At $19.97, it certainly was in my price range and looked like a possibility.

Down the aisle a bit, I found a similar looking Neutrogena product called the Wave.  It appeared to already have cleanser on it, and I was looking for something that I could use with my own products.

Next, I found the Olay Pro-X brush system.  I remembered hearing good things about that one, but couldn’t recall specifics.  It was about $10 more than the Neutrogena system.

Luckily, I had my Motorola Xoom with me, so I whipped it out and used one of the Droid barcode scanner apps to pull up customer reviews for each product to help me decide.

The reviews raved about the Olay brush and compared it to the Clarisonic, so I decided to give it a try.

Once I got it home, I tried it with my cleanser and was really happy with the result.  It wasn’t too harsh and left my face feeling smoother after just one use.

This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias. #CBias  I was given a Motorola Xoom and 6 months of service as part of my participation in the Verizon #MidwestMoms program.
