Family Vacations

It’s kind of funny what you remember from family vacations, isn’t it?  When I was growing up, we took a yearly vacation and usually visited a new location each time. I remember going to Martha’s Vineyard, Northern New Hampshire, Vancouver Canada, Branson Missouri, and Disney World just to name a few.

So far, we’ve taken LJ to the Wisconsin Dells, Chicago, and Disney World (granted, he’s been to Disney THREE times!).  I’m thinking it’s time to take him somewhere new for a vacation.  Trying to find a place that would interest all three of us might be a challenge.

Personally, I’m kind of leaning toward Branson, Missouri myself.  I was only about three or four when I went last time (which was quite a while ago!!).  We were living in Arkansas at the time, so it was not far from us at all.  I have pretty vivid memories of Silver Dollar City and think it would be something LJ would like as well.  Recently, I was looking through a website that features Branson attractions and was amazed at how much it has grown since I was there back in the 70′s!

So, for those of you who have been there more recently: would it be a good destination for a family vacation for two parents and a 7 year old boy?  I’m wondering if it would be too overwhelming or just the right amount of busy?  Advice please!
