We are regulars at our local Culver’s. Besides having fabulous burgers, I personally love the choice of salads and other healthier options. But I have to admit that when a new burger comes out, I am pretty quick to give it a try.
When the folks from Culver’s gave me a heads up that the new Colby Jack Pub Burger was coming out, I was pretty psyched. Then they mentioned that it coincided with the return of Culver’s sweet potato fries and I couldn’t resist. I ran right out to my local Culver’s! (In case you haven’t tried them yet, Culver’s has the best sweet potato fries around. I was so sad when they disappeared off of the menu after their last go around. I would LOVE to see them become a regular item on the menu! *hint hint*)
What makes the Colby Jack Pub Burger different? First, the bun. As you can see from the picture, it is a hefty bun with a sprinkling of sesame seeds, poppy seeds and onion bits. Second, obviously the cheese is Colby Jack rather than the typical American used on most cheeseburgers. Add this to the 4 pepper mayo and A1 steak sauce and you have a very different burger. Lastly, the burger has a layer of crispy fried onions on the bottom (think French’s on top of the green bean casserole).
So, what did I think of it? In a word – yum!! My one caveat is that it is a very substantial burger. If you usually get a double, you might want to scale back and try a single for your first one. I highly recommend the Colby Jack burger and love pairing it with my favorite sweet potato fries. If Wisconsin cheese curds are more your thing, you can add those to the basket meal for an extra dollar.

I have never eaten there, but I have heard about Culver’s and want to visit! I think I would love the Sweet Potato Fries! I would probably order them with the Pot Roast Sandwich.
