I had just about given up on finding a 100% whole wheat pasta that my family (and myself) would really enjoy.
Then I was offered some samples of Einkorn Pasta by Jovial Foods. *cue angels singing*
We absolutely fell in love with Einkorn. Once I learned some more about it, I got even more excited. Not only is Einkorn made with 100% organic whole wheat, it is made from the purest, most ancient species of wheat. Unlike most other stains that have been hybrid or genetically altered, Einkorn is the very first species of wheat that dates back over 12,000 years ago.
Jovial says that this status also give Einkorn higher nutritional value. Einkorn has thiamin, protein, fiber, B vitamins, and twice the antioxidants of regular pasta. But what really sold my family was the taste. You'll have to try it yourself to see exactly what I mean.
So once I was completely sold on Einkorn, I set out to stock up on it and couldn't find it in any of my local stores. Even Woodman's, which has the largest natural food's section around, didn't have it. Luckily, it is really easy to get online. You can order it directly from Jovial Foods (with free shipping) or from Amazon.com
.
I encourage you to Einkorn a try - I think you will be very pleasantly surprised!
I was provided with product samples to facilitate my review. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.

I like whole wheat pasta. My family doesn't really care for it.

ReplyDeleteI'll give it a shot, because I haven't found one I've liked yet.
ReplyDeleteI have trouble with that too! I've found thin spaghetti usually tastes ok, but other pastas just have a funny taste or consistency. I'll have to give this a go.
