We were pretty good about brushing before we started the challenge (although LJ had room for improvement with brushing in the morning). The area we really needed to work on was the flossing and rinsing with regularity. We found that the Listerine Zero really helped in this area since we liked that it did not burn the way our previous rinse did. Because we liked it, we were more likely to use it.
The flossing got much better as well. Having it as part of the Listerine challenge made us much more likely to think of it and make sure that it got done. We aren't perfect in that department, but definitely better. LJ's brushing in the morning became a regular thing - until winter break hit. We had managed to make it a part of the before-school-schedule, and as soon as that schedule was disrupted, the brushing suffered. We will make it a point to get right back on track with it when school resumes and hopefully it will again become a regular part of his morning routine.
They say it takes 21 days for something to become a habit. We have found this to be true, but also learned that any disruption in a regular schedule can easily derail the progress that has been made. No worries - we will just stay vigilant for at least another 21 days and re-establish the good habits we had formed!
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Listerine and received a sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

I've got the flossing down, but I do need to remember the rinsing! I love Listerine Zero!!!! I actually kinda like the burn of regular Listerine, but I like the Zero also!
ReplyDeleteI am a stickler when it comes to my children brushing and flossing twice a day!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the Zero - think I might, because I hate using mouthwash because of the burn.
ReplyDeleteGood oral care is so important to overall health!
ReplyDeleteWe're doing the challenge, too, and it was/is tough with my son. I think it's a boy thing, maybe? He just hates to brush his teeth. I'm proud of how well he is doing now, though. :)
ReplyDeleteLiz - You are easy to please! I hate the burn.
ReplyDeleteMarcie - Good for you! It saves so much pain and hassle in the long run.
Zippy - I find it much more tolerable!
Donna - It probably is a boy thing...they are so stubborn. Good check ups make it worth the struggle.
I always for get to rinse and I love Listerine zero, use it when I remember lol.
ReplyDeleteWe still need to work on the flossing more :/ but we have always been great at brushing

ReplyDelete21 days for a habit is hard but very true. I'm glad it's working out for you
ReplyDeleteI floss every day!
ReplyDeleteGood oral care products are so important!
ReplyDeleteMy kids need a lot more work with the flossing.
ReplyDeleteI use it throughout the day…does that make me weird? lol I just love how fresh it makes my mouth feel.
ReplyDeleteListerine is the only oral rinse we buy!
ReplyDeleteI love Listerine Zero - its the only kind I can handle!
ReplyDeleteLove using this product, my husband has always been addicted to a good rinse!
ReplyDeleteProper oral care is so important to teach our children at an early age!
ReplyDeleteThe best way is to lead by example. Hopefully it will help them in their adult life.
We definitely need to get better on the flossing. My kids brush great but flossing and rinsing is like torture to my boys. My girl does it all.
ReplyDeleteI never remember to rinse!
ReplyDeleteLove Listerine!
