It seems like just about everyone I know is off to BlogHer this week. Me? I'm staying here. But that's okay. There's still lots to do in Wisconsin - like cleaning out my garage, swatting at mosquitoes, and....wait, this isn't sounding like much fun! No really, State Fair opens today and that alone is reason enough to hang out here. Where else can you get over 60 kinds of food on a stick? Mmmm - chocolate covered bacon anyone?
Welcome to all you landing here via the No Go BlogHer Blog Hop!! So pleased to meet you. I'm supposed to introduce myself. My name is Maureen and I have a blogging addiction. *Hello, Maureen* Oh, not that kind of introduction??
Let me try again.
I'm Maureen and I've been blogging since 2007. I was a teacher in my previous life and then I had a baby. At that point, I decided to stay home and be a full time mom, because that would be easier. STOP LAUGHING!!! Yes, I have since learned that handling one small human after having only three hours sleep is waaaaay harder than controlling a room of twenty-five fourth graders after their fifth day of indoor recess. Who woulda guessed?
No, I jest. I have loved being a mom and have managed to survive so far without doing any permanent damage to my son's mental health...I think. Those early years were a bit iffy and I spent many an hour online Googling the various aspects of being a mommy and discovered the underground world of mommy blogs. It seemed like an underground world back then, although it was just becoming more well known.
I've spent the last few years carving out my little corner of the web. I went from knowing NOTHING about blogging, websites, or marketing, to making a nice little income with my writing. (I'm on the verge of launching an ebook and audio program to help other moms who want to start a blog and make a little money, so if you'd like to become an affiliate for the product, shoot me an email and I'll let you know when I start taking sign ups!)
Now I have to share a post...hmmm. If you've read this far, you're a pretty good sport so I'll give you a short funny one. Many of my first posts had to do with the funny things my son, Little J said and did. This was one of my favorites - the time he gave the barista at Starbucks an education she won't soon forget!
Oh - before you go!! There are some good giveaways ending tonight (Thursday) so make sure you click on the links up top and enter them before it's too late.
Yay - another teacher turned stay at home mom blogger!! That's me! I just started blogging 3 months ago and I have a one year old.
