This was so NOT how I pictured my summer starting out!

It's June. I'm not sure how that happened since the last time I checked it was still April.

Little J has less than a week of school left. Summer is here!

Unfortunately, June brought with it a nasty cold for me. I woke up Monday morning with a sore throat which I chalked up to allergies. By about midnight, I realized I was sick.

My mom (and Dad) were nice enough to entertain Little J on Tuesday so I could get some rest and they took him again after preschool on Wednesday. By last night, I couldn't swallow at all and looked like I had the mumps, my neck glands were so swollen. I wound up going into the Urgent Care clinic and freaked out the poor doctor who was unfortunate enough to draw the short straw and had to culture my throat.

She basically told me that she could tell by looking that my tonsils are infected and I needed to be on an antibiotic either way. (I'll spare you the gross details of how she knew they were infected!) She hooked me up with my prescriptions and I went home to bed._

I have to say, my throat began improving after my second dose of antibiotics, so I was a bit surprised to wake up with one eye swollen shut.

Yes, the infection had somehow moved up to my eye and I was back at my regular doctor's office this morning. He noticed that this was the fourth case of tonsillitis I have had this year and suggested I talk to an ENT about getting my tonsils out.

Great.

Aren't I a little old for that????
