SIL (gesturing to our rustic nativity set made by the parent of one of my students): That's Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. Do you know the story about baby Jesus?
Little J: Yes. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall...had a big fall.
SIL (very confused): Nooooo, baby Jesus was born in a manger on Christmas Day.
Little J: THAT is Humpty Dumpty!
At this point I had to go over and investigate further. I checked out our Nativity Scene that has been up since the beginning of December and for the first time realized that....
Baby Jesus DOES indeed resemble Humpty Dumpty!
LOL. I guess Humpty Dumpty could be a very rough allegory of the Jesus story. But that's reaching. :)
